    Melia Hotels honors Jakarta employee for community leadership

    Melia Hotels International has honored Rina Prasarani, a Red Glove Line Agent at Gran Melia Jakarta, with a special award for leadership and inspiration.
    Rina, 37, is known for her advocacy of rights for disabled persons.  After being diagnosed with a degenerative eye license, she eventually became blind.  Her efforts and spirit are a source of inspiration for her coworkers and the general public.
    She was appointed secretary general of the World Blind Union (WBU) at recent WBU General Assembly in Thailand.  She has worked at Gran Melia Jakarta since 2004.
